Professor Abhishek Parolia
Professor Abhishek Parolia is an internationally experienced clinician, educator and researcher whose work spans micro-endodontics, academic leadership, research and international mentorship.

Professor Abhishek Parolia currently serves as Professor, Research Director, and Director of Predoctoral Education in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, USA. A gold medalist in Endodontics, he brings over two decades of experience spanning micro-endodontic clinical practice, academic leadership, research, and international mentorship.
Dr. Parolia earned his PhD at the International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he held multiple senior leadership roles including Associate Dean for Postgraduate, Continuing Education, and Research; Head of Restorative Dentistry; Programme Director of Endodontics; and Head of the Oral Health Centre. His contributions include curriculum innovation, postgraduate programme development, and leading the successful implementation of the ICDAS initiative.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Parolia has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and nine textbook chapters, and serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for many leading international journals. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and an Examiner for the MFDS at RCSEd. His clinical and research interests include micro-endodontics, disinfection strategies, retreatment, regenerative endodontics, vital pulp therapies, clinical audit, and governance. He has delivered more than 300 invited lectures and hands-on workshops worldwide, including in the USA, UK, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
Dr Shalini Kanagasingam
Dr Shalini Kanagasingam is a Specialist Endodontist, Senior Clinical Lecturer and postgraduate educator at the School of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Lancashire, with extensive experience in advanced clinical endodontics, specialist training and dental education.

Dr Shalini Kanagasingam is based at the School of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Lancashire, where she is the Endodontic Lead for the BDS and BDSi programmes and Course Lead for the MSc and DClinDent Endodontology programmes. She holds an MClinDent in Endodontology with Distinction and Membership in Restorative Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She is also an Honorary Consultant at UHMB NHS Trust, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and provides private specialist endodontic treatment at Camden Place Dental Practice & Implant Centre in Preston.
Shalini was recently elected as the British Endodontic Society (BES) Communications Officer, MFDS Part 2 Preparation Course Coordinator (RCPSGlasgow), Endodontics Examination Board Member for the Tri-collegiate Dental Specialty Fellowship Examinations (DSFE), School Ethics & CPD Lead, a member of the European Society of Endodontology Clinical Practice Committee, and Deputy Chair of the DentsplySirona Peers Endodontic Board. She is the Chairperson of the British Dental Association Ribble Section, actively organising CPD programmes for the dental team in the Northwest.
Shalini has published over 40 scientific articles and contributed to dental textbooks including Principles of Endodontics, CBCT in Endodontics, and Pitt Ford's Problem-Based Learning in Endodontology. She was awarded the ODRT OHI (PREVISER) Award in 2018 and the TCWhite Young Researcher's Grant in 2019 to support her research on oral biofilm and Alzheimer's Disease. In 2025 she was awarded two Pump Priming Grants from the Royal College of Surgeons England, and is a recipient of the BES Inspirational Full Time Lecturer Award.
